How I Work
Check out my methods to create a shared and confident understanding with decision makers and cross functional teams.
Manage Idea Intake
Backlog hygiene -- a core problem I identified and solved at Anywhere Real Estate. The implementation of an Idea Intake process was needed to ensure we could centralize the customer's voice and feedback from multiple sources.
With my passion for low-code tooling like - Airtable - I established a way to collect ideas that used to be shared in ad hoc emails, Teams messages, 1:1s, and SaaS feedback collection tools -- then added to a growing JIRA development backlog. To ensure our development team had focus and insight on what's been vetted as a priority, my goal was to remove the clutter from JIRA and ensure ideas were reviewed, elaborated, and prioritized outside the engineering team's working space.
Weighted Shortest Job First
I identified a growing concern of prioritizing by the "loudest voice in the room." As a large organization, we were missing the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally with upstream and downstream decision-makers and product teams.
Through Airtable, I set up the infrastructure to establish a prioritization scheme, allowing teammates to interactively express their concerns, goals, and perspectives about the product's direction. With the inclusion of automation, we systematically scored each teammate's input into prioritized groupings based on Impact vs Urgency.
Cost of Delay
Primarily leveraged this prioritization method during quarterly and sprint-level planning workshops
